Diversity

It is not our differences that divide us.
It is our inability to recognize, accept and celebrate those differences.

A History of Diversity

Founded in 1908 by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, the order was dedicated to the full development of the human person through education, social justice, contemplation, and the arts.

Over 113 years later, Holy Redeemer upholds its long history of inclusivity, by continuing to be one of the most diverse private schools in Oregon. Today we enjoy a robust community made up of students and families with various socio-economical, ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds.

Diversity Statistics

Our 2021 - 2022 enrollment at Holy Redeemer includes 40% of our student body self-reporting as members of the BIPOC community with an additional 15% self-identifying as being of Hispanic ethnicity.

Holy Redeemer is also committed to fostering a community rich in socioeconomic diversity. With over 25% of our families receiving financial aid and 59% receiving at least one form of subsidy, we are committed to ensuring quality private education is available for all who seek it.

A Celebration of Diversity

At Holy Redeemer, diversity is embedded into our everyday curriculum as we share our similarities, varied experiences and celebrate our differences. From the choices of books during literacy and language arts classes to assemblies and field trip tie-ins, we highlight and lift up examples of the diverse world around and within us.
